The thing about Kimbra is not her voice, or the songwriting or really the music even. It’s the sheer, pure energy she puts into singing. Watching her sing is infectious. It makes you remember those days of singing, with the window down, whatever song you had learned in chapel and adding your own sounds when you forgot certain words. And changing the shape of your mouth to make different sounds. It’s singing when no one’s watching. You sing it however loud, however low, however you like.
